Percent-encode any text so it is safe inside a URL query string or path segment. Spaces become %20 (or + depending on context), reserved characters like &, ?, # and = are escaped, and unicode is UTF-8 encoded. Essential for building API calls, tracking links and form GET URLs by hand.
🔒 Your file is processed locally in your browser whenever supported. This tool runs entirely on your device — nothing you type or upload is sent to a server, logged, or stored.
+ is traditional for application/x-www-form-urlencoded bodies. %20 works in both query strings and paths. This encoder uses encodeURIComponent (%20), which is the safer general choice.
At minimum: space, #, &, +, =, ?, %, and non-ASCII. encodeURIComponent escapes all of these plus !, ', (, ) and * — all safe to leave encoded.
You can, but you usually should not. Encode only the parameter values, not the scheme, host or path separators. Encoding a whole URL breaks navigation.
